TOTE Maritime Alaska announced their General Rate Increase of 4.5% effective 12-3-17. Alaskan Express Service will follow that general rate increase of 4.5% also effective 12-3-17. AES appreciates your business and looks forward to your continued support.

Totem Ocean Trailer Express and Matson Navigation Company made the decision to reduce the impact of the fuel surcharge (FSC) in the overall cost of transportation by cutting the surcharge in half and increasing the base rates by that same amount, to offset the decreased FSC.  

Alaskan Express Service will be implementing the same change along, with our general rate increase of 4.0% effective Sunday 12-18-16. AES FSC will go from 30% to 16%.

KFF (Keep From Freezing) SERVICE FOR WINTER 2016/2017

To our valued customers:
Once again, it is time to bundle up and prepare for the winter season in Alaska.  After internal discussion, we are announcing the official start of KFF (Keep from Freezing) Service to begin with our northbound sailings this week.

As a reminder, basic guidelines for requesting KFF Service are:

  • Request KFF Service at time of booking
  • Declare KFF Service on your bill of lading for each load

If you are a customer that requests Full Trailers at times, please be sure to request insulated equipment when doing so.  Once again, we would like to thank each and every one of you for a smooth Winter Season in Alaska, as we transition in and out of this service offering.

2016 FUEL ADJUSTMENT

Our Steamship Carrier Partners have announced a fuel surcharge increase, effective July 03, 2016. This increase will bump the surcharge up to 30.0%. Alaskan Express will reflect the new rate on shipments dated on or after the effective date on shipments to or from the state of Alaska.
